K9 Pest Management Group Inc., is the current provider of animal control services for the Municipalities of Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, New Tecumseth, Township of Essa, with city-approved Pound Services for Township of Springwater and Bradford West Gwillimbury as well as emergency pound services for the Township of Essa and New Tecumseth.
We offer both animal control services and shelter capabilities. Our kennel, run under the Maplelane Farm prefix, is properly licensed, properly zoned and is designed to meet the standards for this type of building, as set out in the Animal for Research Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter A22.
Routine patrol includes monitoring the entire municipality for dog control contraventions. We have a fleet of three fully equipped animal control vehicles with animal carriers- a 6-dog trailer and a dead deer/livestock removal trailer, all equipped with first aid kits, live trap cages, snare poles, nets, gloves, masks, cages, two way radios and cellular telephones.
We offer extended shelter hours, including weekend hours; office & telephone reception; 24/7 emergency service, including 24 hour pick up of strays when confined with 24 hour access to the shelter to drop off; domestic road casualty pick ups; rabies suspect submissions to the Health department; 24hr emergency veterinary care; and computerized reporting through the provincially recognized PetWise system.
We are fully insured for liability, property damage and under the Workplace Safety and Insurance board (proof of certification available).
Kenneling is provided at 6311 12th Line, Alliston, located in New Tecumseth. Run under the Maplelane Farm prefix, this facility is a licensed kennel, fulfilling all requirements set out by the Town of New Tecumseth.
K9 Pest Management Group Inc. will seek sub-contractors for the kenneling if service required is more than 30 minutes away from Maplelane Farm. veterinary clinics, and private registered kennels are contacted. Upon meeting the standards of 9 Pest Management Group Inc. and clearance from the Municipality, a sub-contract will be drawn up and closely monitored at 9 Pest Management Group Inc. expense.
Having the shelters remain local helps to build better relationship/rapport with the public sector.
Accessibility to these facilities will be geared to suit all parties involved.
K9 Pest Management Group Inc. maintains/provides all supplies required for control as well as a specially-designed dog trailer and horse trailer. Our fleet of vehicles consist of SUVs and pick-up trucks.

We follow the guidelines of WSIB, are an insured Co. and are bondable.
Every attempt is made to place an animal who has not been re-united with it's owner by working with breed rescue groups, all breed groups and foster homes.
With our domestic animal control contracts, K9PMG provides a 1 day program per year. (With the approval of the Municipality)
This day consists of a variety of activities from demonstrations, CKC's K-9 Good Neighbour testing, free nail cutting, a rabies clinic, license tag sales, vendor and child safety. We bring in a variety of disciplines and in the past have had dog performance teams, police detection dogs and therapy dogs. Income from this event is either retained by the municipality or donated to a charity of the municipality's choice. Responsible Pet Ownership Month is usually held in the May.
All of our Animal Control Officers are trained in Emergency Pet First Aid, CKC K-9 Good Neighbour Evaluators, CPR, breed recognition and aggression handling. All Officers are capable of laying charges, including under "Dog Owner's Liability Act" and preparing and attending court hearings.
Staff have been trained to deal with the public in a respectful and courteous manner.
We recently had a surprise inspection by the Ministry of Agriculture and passed with flying colours ! ! !
